After all of those avatars of the Noble Bard and Exiled setting races, I decided that it might be a good time to sneak Adrienne in.
This is an inspiration chart. They’re cycling all over Deviantart, courtesy of IzzyWinkle.
This shows some of the characters that I was inspired by when creating Adrienne. No, their size has little to do with how much they inspired the character.
I have realized that I could add more characters to this. Including Black Widow (Avengers), and a few more.
Can’t remember the others at the moment, but you get the idea.
You may recognize the artwork from a previous post. It is a coloured version of that sketch.
Race avatars made using Lunaii Dollmaker.
Commonly called Maegi (as they are the most magical race), but also called Seelie amongst themselves.
Easily the most reclusive and xenophobic race. The pictures shown are the most common skin tone, but they tan easily and darker skins can be found. Especially among the exiled.
They were, at one time, one of the ruling races, and they are one of the ancient races. However, they are the only of the ancient races that play an important role in the stories.
Ciar, Finn and Mairwen are all Maegi. Finn and Mairwen are specifically exiled Maegi.
Made using Lunaii Dollmaker once again.
The Korrigan have so far been the most fun to design.
The traditional folklore has little that I could work with, as well as varying information.
So I chose what I wanted to use and discarded what I didn’t. They are also perhaps (along with the Haltija, who come in second), the most varied from their traditional mythology.
Lucretia from the Noble Bard is a Korrigan.
Made using Lunaii Dollmaker.
Like the traditional tomte, they look old.
Designed to not only look old, but also to be ugly to most of the other races. This representation is perhaps the least accurate.
They are stockier, their skin is a bit ruddy looking, and I’ve changed their skin colour to a more greyish caucasian look.
Basically, they are meant to look like black-eyes, really sick old people. Not fun.
This race was an easier race to design, and again using Lunaii Dollmaker.
Based off the Scandinavian Huldra, they are pretty similar.
A few notable differences is that they do not become old if you see their back, and that their backs are not hollow tree trunks.
They are closer in appearance to humans, as they live wherever humans live, and of all the fantasy races in the setting, they have the most diverse coloring.
